Abstract Submission
Thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract for the 2024 Southeastern Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery Symposium (SCBDDS).
Both poster and oral presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts for the meeting. If you have a new development or research relevant to the meeting topic that you wish to present, please submit an abstract by the deadline stated below. Please note that abstracts will not be included in the meeting if the author is also not a registered participant by this date.
You will receive an email that your submission has been accepted for poster presentation. The 2024 SCBDDS Committee and organizers reserve the right to reject any poster which is judged to be inappropriate or which promotes a commercial or personal interest perspective.
Logistics
- Deadline for oral presentation consideration is April 15, 2024. (Closed)
- Deadline for abstract submission for poster presentations is April 25, 2024. (Closed)
- Oral and poster presentation notifications will be sent by April 30, 2024.
- All presenters must be registered by the deadline of April 30, 2024.
- Presenting authors are responsible for registration, travel, and hotel costs.
- Abstracts submitted by the deadline will be compiled and made available to participants.
- Any presenter who is unable to attend should arrange for another qualified individual to present the paper/poster in question. If such a change is necessary, please notify Angel Paradise at (706)542-4475 or angel.paradise@uga.edu
Submission Instructions
- Abstracts are limited to one page. Abstracts not meeting this page limit will not be considered.
- All abstracts must be formatted with no less than 0.75 inch margins all around, 11-pt font size for title, authors, and narrative text, and 10-pt font size for table/figure legends and references.
- Abstracts must use Arial font style.
- The following information must be included in the submitted abstract: abstract title; all author(s)’ identifying information, including names, degrees, institutional affiliations, and the email address of the presenting author. (Please state clearly the names and emails of both the presenter and the PI in the submitted abstract.)
- Narrative text may include tables/figures and references providing the submission stays within the page limit.
- Abstracts must be submitted as PDF files.
- Please use the following naming convention for the file name: CorAuthorLastName_First Name.pdf (ex. Smith_James.pdf).

Abstract: Narrative text. Tables and figures may be included, provided the abstract stays within the page limit. Avoid using jargon and acronyms. Consider including the following information in the abstract, when relevant:
- Objective, problem under investigation, hypothesis or research goal
- Description of research methods
- Summary of findings
- Statement of how the research advances the field
